Last Night Was Awful

Well, the gig at the strip club did not go well last night.  No one was paying attention to anything I was saying.  People were yelling at me and telling me to get off the stage.  Some even asked me to show parts of my anatomy that didn't exist.  I was humiliated.  I had no idea this comedy thing would be so hard.

I went on with no real plan really.  I just thought I would go up and say funny things like at work when I used to work at the copy shop.  I had no idea that you need jokes.

Collect free beer before performance.

Thank God my father didn't show up, although I sure could have used the ride home.

My First Gig!!!

Well it's only been a couple of days and I already have my first gig, thanks to my new business cards.  I guess that Copy place where I used to work was good for something.  This comedy thing is easy!  

I was just handing out business cards today at this bar and a guy told me he might have some work for me.  It's at a local strip club on the other side of town, and here's the kicker.  I get free beer!

Now I just have to figure out a way to get there and back because the bus doesn't run that late in our town.

I had Easter dinner with my parents last night.  I didn't tell them that I quit my job and was getting into show business.  I think a good time to break it to them would be at the show.  

I could probably get my dad to come out and see me, but I'm not sure about my mom.  She doesn't like beer.  

Oh well.  At least this way I can get a ride to the gig.

I QUIT!

Well, I did it.  I quit my job at the copy place to become a stand-up comic.  They can stuff that job for all I care.  Before I left, I borrowed some of their office supplies to draw up a three year plan.

Year 1.   Get discovered    

Year 2.  Get on Jay Leno Show. (or Carson Daly if things don't work out)

Year 3.  HBO Special
